Your words cut me like rasors
Your glares are filled with ice
Your whispers try to break me down
But still, like air, I'll rise

It may take me a second
It may take me a year
But no matter how hard you knock me down
I'll recover from every tear

Why is it that you chip away
My defences peice by peice?
Is it because my happiness
Puts you ill at ease

I'm sorry for offending you
With the chortals of my joy
And I'm sorry I wont let you think
That I'm your little toy

From the grip of your hate
I'll rise

From your bitter twisted lies
I'll rise

From my bleeding knees which you tried to keep me

I'll rise
I'll rise
I'll rise
