Wrinkled on the edges
Gone from red to brown to grey
Even the slightest breeze
Threatens to push me from my perch
I feel it in my veins

A slight pop
Not the agony I had feared
I'm falling
Tumbling
As the ground rushes forward
I think of my days in the sun

I lie
So far from where I longed to be
But my family surrounds me
As I await the cold embrace of winter
And stare up at our empty home
