Out in the ocean I wait and tread,
While all others chose to swim instead.
In the distance they begin to disappear,
And soon after I am bombarded by fear.
Off on the horizon not a sight of land,
And crippled by the inability to stand.

I think this is when we must
Look up and float,
So we can finally realize that we
Don't even need a boat.

You strike a buoyancy with your ryhme scheme in this poem that fits the subject matter quite well. It also has elements of spiritualism. I've enjoyed it, thanks!
