I HEAR WHAT THEY SAY
BUT I'M NOT LISTENING ALONG THE WAY
IT GOES ON THROUGH OUT THE DAY
ALL MY CHILD WANTED IS TO PLAY
HE WANTED A LITTLE OF MY TIME
BUT NO IS WHAT I SAY

WE WONDER WHY TEENAGERS DIE EVERY DAY
WE ARE TOO BUSY GOING OUR OWN WAY
WE NEED TO TAKE TIME TO LISTEN TO OUR KIDS
BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE TAKES THEIR BID

MOM AND DAD WORKS ALL THE DAY LONG
THEY COME HOME TIRED
WANTING A LITTLE REST
THE CHILD IS GLAD TO SEE THEIR PARENTS HOME
THEY GRUMBLE IN A LITTLE ROUGH VOICE
ALL I WANT IS TO BE LEFT ALONE

ONE DAY THE CHILD IS UP AND GROWN
THEY HAVE A LIFE OF THEIR OWN
THE PARENTS GET THEIR WISH
THEY ARE LEFT ALL ALONE

THEIR CHILD GETS IN TROUBLE
THEY WONDER WHERE THEY WENT WRONG
IT'S BECAUSE THEY WERE HEARING WHAT THEY SAY
BUT NOT LISTENING TO WHAT THEY NEED

THEY NEED A LITTLE LOVE
FROM MOM AND DAD ALONG THE WAY
TO GIVE THEM ATTENTION EACH AND EVERY DAY
WE NEED TO HEAR WHAT THEY SAY
AND LISTEN FROM THE HEART
BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE

INSPIRED BY THE LOVE OF GOD
