Obsessive by nature
Compulsive is one
A life in disorder
It just has to be done.
It has to be done
It has to be done
Over and over
It’s got to be done

Books by the alphabet
‘Til they’re right to my eyes
Or is it books by the colour
Or is it books by their size
Music by album by artist by track
A spiralling defining enveloping task
Will I keep going keep going don’t slack
Really? Really? Really don’t ask

It’s got to be done
It’s got to be done
On and on
It’s got to be done

Moved to the left
Back to the right
Where is centre
There not quite
Tins in the cupboard
Fruit in a dish
The same shape and colour
How I do wish ‘cos

It’s got to be done
It’s got to be done
On and on
It’s got to be done

Is that curtain straight??

Lock the window
Lock the door
Turn the key
Just once more

Leave til tomorrow
Hands idle shake
Pulse pulsing faster
Head throbbing ache
Sound in my brain
Pounding like train
On and on
Just got to be done

It’s got to be done
It’s got to be done
On and on
It’s got to be done

Why is that wet wipe there??

Toilet paper – overhand
Lectric toothbrush on its stand
Soap in dish no mess on floor
Check it once check once more
Bathroom cupboard
Order to size
Or aroma or splendour
Know no compromise as

It has to be done
It has to be done
Over and over
It’s got to be done

Things that haven’t made the list
Cotton buds
Dried goods
Kindling, fire woods
Things that have to be missed
Those I wish I could
That freeze my blood
Numb my eyes flood

Yes it is trouble
Trouble and strife
But it’s OCD and
It orders my life

(The story of one day in August 2012. My anxiety attacks come in many forms. My OCD is a semi regular event so is it really OCD? I'm not sure. Through this particular event I made a friend. Life is strange).
